资源简介:

The taxonomic revision and the morphometric analyses of the genus Calix Rouault, 1851 are based on 28 discrete characters coded for 62 specimens belonging the known species and morphotypes of the genus Calix, and associated genera: Enodicalix Paul and Gutiérrez-Marco, 2020, Lepidocalix Termier and Termier, 1950, Oretanocalix Gutiérrez-Marco, 2000, Phlyctocystis Chauvel, 1966, and Sinocystis Reed, 1917. Two complementary datasets are analysed. The first, referred to as the CTRL dataset, consists of a curated selection of type or figured (when types were not available) specimens representing all species of Calix and the associated genera. The second dataset, here designated as the EXT dataset (for extended specimen set), includes the CRTL set in addition to a broader range of specimens of Calix species including the cases with debated or doubtful taxonomic attribution. Supplemental file 1 contains the coding of the 28 characters and the data matrix, and explanatoins about data gathering and maturation, multivariate methods and statistical tests. Supplemental file 2 contains the detailed results of the multivariate analyses and the statistical tests. Supplemental tables synthesises the taxonomic evolution and the key features of the considered taxa (Tables S1-S2) prior our study, the discretisation process and the missing values for each morphological character (Table S3) and the coding matrix (Table S4), the results of the KNN applied to the CRTL (Table S6) and the EXT (Table S7) datasets, the results of the statistical tests (Tables S8-S12). Supplemental figures contains the schematic representation of methodological workflow (Fig. S1), the HCA performed on the EXT dataset and the Elbow & Silhouette plots for HCA perfomed on both datasets (Figs S2-S3), graphical representations of PERMDISP and ANOSIM tests at the genus (Fig. S4) and the species (Fig. S5) for both datasets, and the raw NMDS morphospace showing the distribution of the states of the morphological characters (Fig. S6). All analyses were conducted in R Statistical Software (v4.4.2; R Core Team, 2021) using the vegan 2.7-1 (Oksanen et al., 2025) and pvclust 2.2-0 (Suzuki et al., 2019) packages, except for the KNN classifier computed in Past 4.15 software (Hammer et al., 2001). The R-script is provided in the file script_multivariate-analyses.R.
