Meningitis belt outbreak of Neisseria meningitidis serotype C ST-10217

Starting in 2013, the northwestern part of Nigeria has seen yearly outbreaks of meningitis caused by a novel strain of serogroup C Neisseria meningitidis (NmC). In 2015, the strain spread to the neighboring country Niger where it caused a severe epidemic of meningitis. In 2017 the largest ever global epidemic of NmC occurred in northern Nigeria. This dataset consists of WGS from ST-10217 isolates from Niger and Nigeria 2013-2017. Illumina data exists for all isolates. Additionally, two isolates were sequenced on the MinION.
