‘Everyday dreamers’ comprise of triathletes who compete at an amateur level, which makes up 90% of triathletes in Australia. Amateur triathletes compete in age group categories, starting with juniors, all the way up to 80-year-old groups, in 5 year groupings.
Many people are attracted to triathlon for reasons including the challenging nature of multisport, fun, fitness and the social aspects.
This collection contains personal anecdotes from age group competitors:
• Chris and Kate Vince, (Kate in her 70s at the time) who competed at the 2011 SunSmart IRONMAN held in Busselton, Western Australia
• Vincent Tremaine pushed who through injury and pain to become an Ironman at the 2008 IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii
