Emerging Occurrence of Gambierdiscus carolinianus in the Azores: D8–D10 LSU rDNA sequence alignments of Gambierdiscus carolinianus and related species

This dataset includes the aligned nucleotide sequences of the D8–D10 region of the LSU rDNA gene used in the phylogenetic analyses presented in the article “Emerging Occurrence of Gambierdiscus carolinianus in the Azores: the northernmost Atlantic record”. The alignment includes sequences from two Azorean isolates (IPMA-GBAZ01 and IPMA-GBAZ02) alongside 40 other Gambierdiscus and Fukuyoa reference sequences retrieved from GenBank. Alignments were performed using MAFT algorithm and manually trimmed in MEGA12. These data support the phylogenetic figures in the publication and are suitable for replication or further comparative studies.
