资源简介:
Dear Editor, Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic, recurrent, inflammatory disease of the pilo-sebaceous unit. It is associated with high physical and physiological burdens, and it is characterized by the onset of cutaneous nodules, abscesses, sinus-tracts and consequent scar formation mainly on the intertriginous apocrine-bearing areas. Treatment varies based on severity and can include topical and systemic antibiotics, hormone therapy, immune modulators, and surgery. Laser treatment for hair removal has emerged in recent years as a valid therapeutic approach of HS. We evaluate, the efficacy of alexandrite hair removal laser with a wavelength of 755 nm as adjuvant treatment in mild-to-moderate HS was prospectively investigated. Our study seems to suggest that alexandrite hair removal, particularly in conjunction with other medical approaches, could be a valuable and a well-tolerated treatment option in HS. We hope that our manuscript could be suitable for publication as research letter to Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.
