Rhodococcus opacus PD630. Rhodococcus opacus PD630 was isolated from a gas works plant soil sample in Germany. This organism accumulates triacylglycerols in large inclusions (up to 76% of cellular dry weight) when grown on a variety of substrates including hexadecane, phenylacetate, gluconate, acetate and olive oil.
