A 30m Land Productivity Dynamic Dataset for SIDS computed from Mixed Landsat Time Series and FWv2 model

This repository contains a Land Productivity Dynamics (LPD) Dataset for 40 SIDS at 30m resolution. Accurate assessment of LPD is fundamental for monitoring land degradation, integrating land use planning, assessing progress towards Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 15.3.1 and fulfilling reporting obligations under the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). To support the 2026 UNCCD reporting process, Apacheta, Conservation International (CI) and the Partnership Initiative for Sustainable Land Management (PISLM) have joined forces to provide SIDS with a series of LPD related products in the required temporal windows: Baseline period (2000-2015), 1st Reporting period (2004-2019) and (current) 2nd Reporting period (2008-2023). The files provided for each of the SIDS have been calculated using the 30m Mixed Landsat time series (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15276535) with the FAO-WOCAT version2 (FWv2 - https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.10849367) algorithm in Priority Mode setting for the 3 periods. Also please explore the LPD Real-Time Tool, a web application designed in Google Earth Engine. This App provides users of the SIDS with the capability to generate their own LPD maps in real-time using either default or customized parameters, offering a powerful tool to tailor maps to local conditions.
