The financial situation of local government units vs. the standard of living of the inhabitants

Statistical data obtained are a result of a survey conducted among 241 presidents and vice-presidents of municipal councils throughout Poland on the impact of the financial situation of local government units on the standard of living of their inhabitants. The following research was performed using the CATI computer-assisted telephone interview technique. The research took place from the beginning of January to the end of February 2022. In order to determine the sample size of the surveyed entities, the formula for the sample size was used for a finite population. In order to ensure representativeness in the entire community of presidents and vice-presidents in Poland, the random - stratified method was used. The questionnaire consisted of closed questions, questions with multiple choice, with a cafeteria-style of answers, and open questions enabling the respondent to freely express oneself. Most often, the questions were structured in such a way that numerical values were assigned to individual variants of answers. It was assumed that along with the increase in the size of the assigned rank, the rating of a given category increased. The respondents expressed their opinion on the importance of these categories by making an assessment on a seven-point scale.
