Metagenomic analysis reveals microbial regulatory mechanisms of feed efficiency in Hu sheep

This project investigates how rumen microbes influence feed efficiency in Hu sheep. Using a metagenomic approach, we profile the taxonomic composition and functional potential of the rumen microbiome in animals with contrasting feed efficiency. The results will provide mechanistic insight into microbiome contributions to feed efficiency and offer microbial targets and biomarkers to support precision nutrition and sustainable sheep production.
