收藏资源简介:
This deposit contains data and sources related to the study of the deadliest sudden weather-related events over the territory of the Czech Lands (recently the Czech Republic) in the 1851–2025 CE period. Events with the highest numbers of fatalities (more than 20), connected with floods, windstorms, convective storms, thunderstorms, snow, and fog are presented. For 13 selected events, their meteorological conditions, their course and accompanying circumstances, and selected fatality features are described. For this purpose, following sources of data were used: Weather charts: All maps for sea level pressure, temperature, and wind speed in 850 hPa level in respective day and time can be downloaded from: https://www.wetterzentrale.de/en/reanalysis.php?model=noaa. Precipitation data: The precipitation data used for expression of precipitation fields of individual extreme events come from measurements of the meteorological stations of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI). CHMI data are openly available at: https://opendata.chmi.cz/. Aerological data: Data for vertical profile of selected temperature characteristics at the Prague-Libuš station can be downloaded from: Integrated Global Radiosonde Archive, NOAA, https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/data/integrated-global-radiosonde-archive. Fatality data: Fatality data obtained from different documentary sources are available for individual extreme weather events with respect to place, sex and age of corresponding victims. In the file “01_fatalities_deadliest events” are these data for each event on a separate sheet (list of events is on the first sheet).
