资源简介:
In January 2020, Archaeological Research Services Ltd were commissioned by Garner Holdings Ltd to undertake a historic building recording at Culland Farm, South Wingfield, Derbyshire. The building recording, which also included an intra-demolition watching brief of the farmhouse undertaken in May 2020, was undertaken to discharge conditions 3 and 4 of the planning permission (Application Ref. No.AVA/2019/0552) prior to partial demolition of the farmstead (dwelling and outbuilding) and renovation, converting the site into two residential units comprising ancillary accommodation, installation of a private sewage treatment plant and improvements of the access junction. Culland Farm in its present form comprises a mixture of farm buildings. By the early 19th century the complex was largely composed of a rectangular farmhouse (A.i), which is abutted by two barns along its eastern (A.ii and A.iii) extent. A number of the structures within the northern half of the farmstead complex, which include a former milking parlour, cow shed and piggery structure, also date to the 19th century. These have been remodelled in the 20th century, along with the addition of other farm structures within the southern part of the site.
