This project integrates 16S rRNA gene sequencing of the gut microbiota and RNA-seq-based transcriptomic analysis of the jejunum and duodenum in Longyan Shan Partridge ducks with high and low residual feed intake (RFI). RFI is a key metric for feed efficiency in poultry, and understanding its biological basis can inform strategies for improving sustainable poultry production. The dataset includes:Microbial community profiles of the duodenal and jejunal contents, highlighting differences in composition and diversity between high- and low-RFI ducks.Host transcriptomic data from intestinal tissues, revealing gene expression patterns associated with feed efficiency, nutrient absorption, immune response, and gut barrier function.Correlative insights between microbial taxa and host gene expression, aiming to uncover microbiome-host interactions that may influence RFI.These data provide a foundation for identifying microbial and molecular biomarkers of feed efficiency in ducks, with potential applications in breeding and nutritional management.
