The Online Map of Earthquake Events presents the earthquakes registered by the Rhineland-Palatinate Earthquake Service since 2000. As shown in the description of the station network (https://www.lgb-rlp.de/fachthemen-des-amtes/landeserdbebendienst-rheinland-pfalz/erdbeben-stationsnetz.html), the LER is a locally oriented measuring network, only earthquakes in the vicinity of Rhineland-Palatinate are shown. A table listing the registered earthquakes can be found <a href='https://www.lgb-rlp.de/fachthemen-des-amtes/landeserdbebendienst-rheinland-pfalz/erdbebenveranstaltungen-lokal.html?no_cache=1' target='_blank'>here</a>.:The map of earthquake zones and geological underground classes for Rhineland-Palatinate refers to DIN 4149:2005-04 'Buildings in German earthquake zones; Load assumptions, design and execution of customary buildings', published by the DIN Deutsches Institut fuer Normung e.V., Burggrafenstr. 6, D-10787 Berlin. Non-tectonic seismic induced events are not the subject of this presentation (DIN 4149:2005-04, Chapter 5.1). The seismic zones are assigned intensity intervals according to the European Macroseismic Scale (EMS) and design values of soil acceleration ag. The underlying reference recurrence period corresponds to a probability of occurring or exceeding 10% within 50 years.
