Chromosome-level genome assembly and annotation of the silver-lipped pearl oyster (Pinctada maxima)

This dataset contains the first chromosome-level genome assembly and annotation of the silver-lipped pearl oyster, Pinctada maxima. The assembly (1.26 Gb) was produced using PacBio HiFi long reads, Illumina short reads and Hi-C scaffolding to resolve 14 chromosomes, with a contig N50 of 649 kb and scaffold N50 of 89.19 Mb. The annotation includes 26,315 protein-coding genes, repetitive element landscapes, non-coding RNAs, and comparative genomic synteny data. Raw sequencing data (Illumina PE150, PacBio HiFi, Hi-C and Iso-Seq) and assembly files are provided.
