lant growth and development is severely affected by soil salinity. Symbiotic association of plants with fungal endophytes has been gaining attention in recent years to alleviate salt stress tolerance in plants. The role of salt-tolerant endophytes, (isolated from salt-tolerant paddy genotypes, VTL-4 and VTL-6) in imparting salinity tolerance to salt-sensitive paddy genotype IR-64 has been observed in the preliminary evaluation. It also provided an insight into the physiological and biochemical mechanisms by which the endophytes were able to impart salinity tolerance to salt-sensitive plants. To obtain in-depth understanding of molecular mechanisms involved in rice-fungal endophyte interactions under salinity stress, RNA-seq data was generated for salt-sensitive paddy genotype, IR-64 (10 d) with and without endophyte (E+ and E-) under salt stress. The current data represents the 10 day old paddy seedling without an endophyte and under salt stress.
