<p>3D scan of a reconstruction of a dodo (<em>Raphus cucullatus</em>),
the now extinct flightless bird which was endemic to the island of
Mauritius. The first eyewitnesses of the dodo were a Dutch fleet led by
Van Warwjick in 1598 - within 100 years the dodo was extinct. There is
not a single complete skeleton of a single specimen, and all existing
dodo models, like this one, are reconstructions.</p>
<p>This Dodo reconstruction was made by the model builder Iris Rubin (NHMW) and can be found in Hall 31 of the NHM Vienna.</p>
