Environmental Aid, Fiscal Capacity and Environmental Quality: Evidence from Africa’s Largest Recipients

The data used for the study is drawn from publicly available repositories. It consists of a balanced panel of ten African countries, South Africa, Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Mozambique, Niger, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zambia, covering the period 2002 to 2022. The selected countries represent the largest recipients of environmental and climate finance flows to Africa, and inclusion was further guided by the availability of complete and consistent data for all variables used in the study throughout the sample period.
