New genus of cyphelloid fungus described from Białowieża Forest.. Reverse of cyphelloization is suggested to have occured in a evolutionary lineage of reduced agarics (Agaricales, Basidiomycota) - a new polypore-like cyphelloid fungus with robust basidiome from the Białowieża Forest

We are providing the reconstruction of the evolution of cypheloid fungi, including little known taxa Henningsomyces and Rectipilus. Our study revealed several collections from the Białowieża Forest as the members of an unique phylogenetic lineage described here as a new genus Białowieżaea macrocarpa.
