Comparison to genes that escape X-inactivation.

Listed are the top 15 genes that account for almost all of the differences in gene expression between males and females in lymphoblastoid cell lines [7]. Fold-change indicates magnitude and direction of sex-bias in expression, as in Table 1. The last two columns represent the occurrences of escape from X-inactivation for the indicated gene in a lymphoblastoid cell line study across 4 populations [7] and in a fibroblast cell hybrid study carried out in 9 hybrids [8]. NS, not significant.
