资源简介:
One of the ultimate objectives of reading is to enhance students' comprehension skills. Reading comprehension involves extracting meaning from written text, making it one of the fundamental language skills that students should acquire from a young age. Improving students' ability to comprehend what they read and enhancing their reading motivation lays the groundwork for success in various areas. In this context, the primary aim of the study is to examine the impact of personalized digital stories on fluent reading, comprehension, and reading motivation. The research was designed in an explanatory-sequential mixed methods design. In the experimental group of the study, a single-subject ABAB design was utilized. In the qualitative part, the effect of Personalized Digital Stories was attempted to be revealed by obtaining the views of students, classroom teachers, and parents. The sample group of the study consisted of one second-grade elementary school student. The study took place over a total of 8 weeks with 40 sessions. Data collection tools included the Reading Comprehension Test, Reading Motivation Profile Scale, and Reading Prosody Rubric developed by the researcher. Measurements were taken three times: before the intervention, during the intervention, and after the intervention. Data analysis involved the use of arithmetic mean, frequency, and percentage. The research concluded that the implementation of Personalized Digital Stories improved students' fluent reading, comprehension, and reading motivation.
