Thirty 1-Liter water samples were collected inside and outside permanent monitoring areas in the Channel Islands National Park. DNA was extracted using the Qiagen DNeasy kit, modified according to Spens et al. 2017. The mitochondrial 12S and CO1 gene regions were PCR amplified (using primers from Miya et al. 2015 and Leray et al. 2013, respectively). The samples were sequenced on an Illumina MiSeq and processed using the Anacapa toolkit (https://github.com/limey-bean/Anacapa).<br>channel-islands-taxon-table.txt is formatted as an Anacapa output file; the same data is available in BIOM format in channel-islands-taxon-table.biom.
