The impact of physical activities on English Language learning

Second language acquisition in preschool children poses significant educational challenges, as traditional teaching methods are often ineffective and reduce learners’ motivation. This study aimed to investigate and design play-based and movement-integrated activities for teaching English to children aged 3 to 6 years. Grounded in theories of active and multisensory learning, activities incorporating movement games, music, rhythm, and group interaction were developed. Data were collected through oral assessments, behavioral observations, and feedback from teachers and caregivers. The results demonstrated that integrating language instruction with physical activity significantly enhances motivation, vocabulary acquisition, pronunciation, and motor skills development. This study provides effective evidence-based practical strategies for incorporating movement-based games into second language education.
