Hydrazine borane (denoted as HB, N<sub>2</sub>H<sub>4</sub>BH<sub>3</sub>) has been recognized as an attractive hydrogen storage material owing to its high hydrogen capacity of 15.4 wt%. However, N<sub>2</sub>H<sub>4</sub>BH<sub>3</sub> still faces challenges in thermolytic dehydrogenation, such as relatively high dehydrogenation temperatures and the generation of excessive by-products. In this study, we successfully introduced NiCl<sub>2</sub> and CoCl<sub>2</sub> into N<sub>2</sub>H<sub>4</sub>BH<sub>3</sub> via a co-precipitation method, synthesizing a series of materials doped with different weight fractions of NiCl<sub>2</sub> and CoCl<sub>2</sub>.
