Sample of covid-19 similes and metaphors from English and Spanish digital media 2020-2022

<p>The project’s main aim is to compare the use of similes and corresponding metaphors deployed by Spanish digital media to communicate Covid-19 from February 2020 to February 2022.</p> <p>The dataset includes constructions with the word virus/coronavirus as a target both in simile form (94 examples, 76 sources for ‘(corona)virus is like X’) and in metaphor form (225 examples, 35 sources for ‘(corona)virus is X’). </p>
