资源简介:
From October 2007 through September 2010, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the Tennessee Duck River Development Agency monitored water quality at 24 sites in the Upper Duck River Watershed. Water samples were collected and analyzed for carbonate hardness, acid neutralizing capacity, chloride, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, phosphorus, boron, bromine, Enterococci and Escherichia coli (E. coli). A handheld sonde was also used to measure specific conductance, water temperature and turbidity. At a subset of sites, streamflow and selected water-quality characteristics (including some combination of turbidity, specific conductance, water temperature, and dissolved oxygen) were continuously monitored and regression models were developed to predict instantaneous E. coli concentration and load. Additional analyses including bacterial source-tracking, determinations of anthropogenic organic compounds, and determinations of bacterial concentration in resuspended sediment were also accomplished at selected sites. This data release includes the above mentioned water quality data, E. coli concentration and load predictions, and results from the additional analysis. The continuous monitored data is available on the USGS NWISweb (http://waterdata.usgs.gov/tn/nwis/nwis). For details on sample collection, data processing, and regression model development see the companion publication, U.S. Geological Survey Data Series 1003 (Murphy, Jennifer, Farmer, James, and Layton, Alice, 2016, Water-quality data and Escherichia coli predictions for selected karst catchments of the upper Duck River watershed in central Tennessee, 2007–10: U.S. Geological Survey Date Series 1003, 17 p., http://dx.doi.org/10.3133/ds1003.) .
