Extracting Conditional Expressions as Local Variables: Frequency, Motivation, and Recommendation

This replication package accompanies the study on Extracting Conditional Expressions as Local Variables: Frequency,Motivation, and Recommendation. It includes datasets, annotated condition snippets, a questionnare used to investigate developers' motivations for such a extractions, training set for feature analysis, and evaluation data for the ConExtractor prototype. These resources support replication of the developers' motivations, feature mining process, classification experiments, and prototype evaluation using real-world open-source Java code. A structured prompt used in fallback analysis with ChatGPT is also provided.
