Multi-omics Characterization of the Vaginal Microecology in HPV Infection and Its Predictive Value for Clinical Outcomes

Conducted at the Taihe Hospital in Shiyan, China, 640 specimens were enrolled via stratified random sampling from 4,572 women undergoing routine HPV screening. These specimens were categorized into HPV-negative (HC, n=216), high-risk HPV (H, n=312), and low-risk HPV (L, n=112) groups and profiled by metagenomic sequencing. A one-year follow-up of the high-risk HPV group was conducted, with baseline vaginal microbiome and metabolome compared between patients with persistent infection (n=31) and clearance (n=19) to evaluate their diagnostic value for clinical outcomes.
