Attitude to technical and scientific progress. (Contrary to usual
custom this Eurobarometer contains only a few questions on attitude to
Europe).

Topics: Importance of political goals and most important future
problems of the world; concerns for the future; the significance of
unemployment, environmental protection and medical progress; judgement
on condition and development of the region; assessment of dependence of
residential region on national or supra-national authorities;
identification with the region, with the republic, or Europe and the
world as a whole; attitude to science and technical progress (scale);
judgement on the importance and benefit of research in the areas of
genetics, provision of energy, data processing, organ transplantation,
satellite development and synthetic materials; attitude to the European
Community (EC), the United Nations (UN), China, the United States and
Russia (scale); self-assessment on a left-right continuum; party
preference (Sunday question); party affiliation.

Demography: age; sex; marital status; nationality; religious
denomination; religiousness; school education; occupation; company
size; household income; size of household; composition of household;
head of household; city size; state.
