The soil of American ginseng were collected from main production district for American ginseng, including Dunhua City, Jilin Province , Wendeng City, Shandong Province , and Liuba City, Shaanxi Province . Six replicates of root of American ginseng were collected from six plots at each site, and each replicate was a composite sample obtained by mixing ten individual samples. The large chunks of soil at the roots were shaken off as the bulk soil., and then gently brush the soil attached to the surface of roots as the rhizosphere soil. A total of 36 soil samples were obtained.
