资源简介:
"This research explores the concern over digital Addiction in recent years and encompasses issues like internet gaming disorder, social media compulsion, and smartphone dependency, which have grown significantly. While a substantial amount of research has examined how these addictions affect adults and college students, there has been a significant lack of comprehensive reviews focusing on the most vulnerable population, i.e. children and adolescents (ages 0\u201318). This scoping review addresses that gap by understanding how digital addiction alters the developing brain. The findings reveal two critical insights that exerted a clear, negative impact on both the physical structure (anatomy) and the function (activity) of the prefrontal lobe region of children's brains, which is responsible for impulse control, decision-making, and emotional regulation. Although further research is needed on very young children (ages 0\u20136) and the long-term effects, this review will provide crucial evidence that excessive digital use physically alters the brain. These insights are vital for parents, educators, and health professionals to develop better prevention and intervention strategies to ensure healthy brain development in youth."
