The protective mechanism of tamoxifen action in the ovary during chemotherapy

The project aimed to recognize the molecules involved in the mechanism of intracellular tamoxifen (TAM) action in the ovary of tumor-bearing rats treated for cancer. The rats were divided into five groups: 1/ non-tumor control group, 2/ tumor-bearing control group, 3/ tumor-bearing TAM-treated group, 4/ tumor-bearing cyclophosphamide-treated (CPA) group and 5/ tumor-bearing CPA+TAM-treated group. Rat ovaries were harvested and total RNA was isolated using peqGold TriFast reagent. The purified total RNA was used for library preparation (TruSeq stranded mRNA Sample Preparation Kit, Illumina, San Diego, USA) and the cDNA libraries were sequenced using Illumina NovaSeq 6000 platform (100 bp paired-end reads).
