THE MOST X-RAY LUMINOUS QSOS FROM THE ROSAT BRIGHT SURVEY

The QSOs RBS 1423 (z2.26) and RBS 825 (z1.57) are the most Xray luminousradio quiet AGN in the ROSAT bright source catalogue. No radio quiet QSOs ofcomparable Xray flux and luminosity have so far been observed by XMMNewton orChandra. We propose to obtain high quality EPIC spectra for both QSOs in orderto investigate the reprocessing of the primary Xray emission in high luminosityAGN. Due to the redshift of the objects important spectral features as the 6.4keV iron fluorescence line, the iron 7.11 keV absorption edge and the Comptonreflection hump are redshifted to favourable energies. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
