On August 30, 2023, a handheld LiDAR device (iPhone running Scaniverse) was used to collect 3D scans of a 12.3-meter adult Grey Whale (Eschrichtius robustus). These scans were conducted during a stranding event at Jarvis Inlet. The handheld LiDAR allowed us to capture highly detailed and accurate morphological data of the adult whale before and after the necropsy commenced. (2023-08-30)
