RNA sequencing of E. coli and B. subtilis infected with phage T4 and phage SPO1, respectively.

Here we sought to determine the proportion of phage to bacterial mRNA in E. coli and B. subtilis cells infected with phage T4, at high multiplicity of infection (MOI), and phage SPO1, at a low MOI, respectively. Bacterial cells were harvested 15 minutes after infection and RNA was extracted. mRNA sequencing was carried out using a Illumina NovaSeq platform after ribosomal RNA depletion.
