Leishmania Genome shotgun sequencing and Phylogenomics

The purpose of this study is to sequence broadly across the Leishmania genus, in both human and non-human pathogenic taxa, to supplement the publicly available nucleotide data that currently limits phylogenomic reconstructions. The data also are used to develop a bioinformatics method and subsequent DNA enrichment approach that identifies and targets variable sites across the length of the genome for use in ancient DNA analyses.
