Dynamic plasmid and phage populations of Wolbachia from Culex pipiens molestus

We sampled and dissected single mosquito ovaries for long read sequencing and Wolbachia genome reconstruction. In addition, we used used short-read data from the same species to assess and validate candidate mutations, particularly in repetitive regions. We report the assembly of a dimeric form of the pWCP plasmid, supporting the activity of this element as well as extensive fragmentation of WO phage regions despite long-read coverage.
