Gene expression inheritance in hybrids

Hybridization generates novel phenotypes by conciliating divergent genomes and regulatory networks in the same cellular context. Despite a few solid studies, changes in molecular regulatory molecules that changes triggering variable gene expression are still largely unknown. To understand the rewiring of gene expression in hybrids, we performed genome-wide analyses of inheritance of gene expression inheritance, cis- and trans-regulatory divergences, and variations in allele-specific expression in interspecific Coffea hybrids using RNA-seq technology.
