To assess the potential prognostic value of the number of cells with deletion on 11q and to gain insight into the molecular basis of this abnormality in this group of CLL patients. A large series of patients diagnosed with 11q- CLL was used to determine whether the frequency of losses in 11q has an influence on OS and TFT. Furthermore, sequencing studies were carried out to analyze the mutational status of ATM, TP53, NOTCH1, SF3B1, MYD88, FBXW7, XPO1 and BIRC3 in this group of patients.
