Ecosystem service indicator maps 2015-2022 for he NL4DL case study Asterousia (Crete, Greece)

The data set contains the ecosystem services maps assessed for the case study area of Asterousia (Crete, Greece) within the framwowrk of the New Life 4Dryland Project (www.https://www.newlife4drylands.eu/en/). The methdology for the ecosystem service assessment is described in detail in the project deliverebale A.3 "Ecosystem Services Assessment in the six NewLife4Drylands case study areas" (available at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.12603958). The ecosystem services indicators assessed for the Austerousia study area are: Above Ground Biomass (AGB), Above Ground Carbon Stock (AGCS) and Soil Erosion Control (SEC). The assessments are for the years 2015 to 2022; mapped values are 0-1 standardized indicators of potential ecosystem service supply with respect to the baseline year (2015), All maps are in GEO TIFF format (raster) at 25m resolution; Coordinate Reference System (CRS) is EPSG:2100 - GGRS87 / Greek Grid. The assessment of AGB was based on NDVI data (10 m resolution); NDVI data 2015-2022 (median values) are provided at 10m resolution. Coordinate Reference System (CRS) is EPSG:2100 - GGRS87 / Greek Grid. The assessment of AGCS was based on MODIS NPP data downscaled at 25 m resolution; NPP data for the baseline year 2015 are provided along with the differences between NPP estimates for the years 2016 to 2022 and the 2015 baseline. Coordinate Reference System (CRS) is EPSG:2100 - GGRS87 / Greek Grid. The assessment of SEC was based on RUSLE estimates (100 m resolution) downscaled at 25 m resolutions. Yearly values for the soil erosion mass avoided by vegetaion (Mg/ha) are provided for the years 2015 to 2022 (25 m resolution). Coordinate Reference System (CRS) is EPSG:2100 - GGRS87 / Greek Grid.
