Sixty patients (unilateral eye disease) with post-vitrectomy cataract were randomized into observation group (n = 30; oral modified TCM seed prescription based on RZYYF) and control group (n = 30; Kary Uni Eye Drops). After 4-month treatment, the ocular condition, the levels of inflammatory factors in the tears, the total incidence of complications and the quality of life (QOL) scores were compared. After treatment, the observation group was significantly superior to the control group in the vision, visual field and visual acuity (<em>P</em> &lt; 0.05). And the levels of inflammatory factors in the observation group were markedly lower than the control group (<em>P</em> &lt; 0.05). In addition, the total incidence of complications in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, while the QOL score was significantly higher than that in the control group (<em>P</em> &lt; 0.05).
