Bacterial community 16S Targeted loci

A 16S survey of the bacterial communities associated with the rhizosphere of Lythrum salicaria and Typha latifolia. The research was focused broadly on the plant-soil feedback dynamic with more specific objectives to 1) determine the potential impact of L. salicaria, an invasive species, on the wetland soil system and 2) explore the role of the role of the plant microbiome as a mechanism of invasion. 48 samples were collected across three sites (16 per site, 8 per species per site) from the Conneaut outlet in NW Pennsylvania.
