A total of 15,117 genes interacting with LHP proteins were identified from RNA immunoprecipitation followed by next-generation sequencing (RIP-seq), of which 404 were non-coding RNAs Motif analysis showed that PmLHP1 preferentially binds mRNAs with NAC, C2C2-Dof (DNA-binding One Zinc Finger) and trihelix motifs. For lncRNAs, PmLHP1 preferentially binds NLP, C2C2-Dof, HSF, C3H, ABI3 motifs. PmLHP1 protein controls a variety of biological processes, including spliceosome, through its RNA-binding activity.
