The Melbourne Metropolitan Tramways Act 1918 established the Melbourne and Metropolitan Loans Redemption Fund. The Fund consisted of surplus revenue from the Melbourne Metropolitan Tramways Board, and annual contributions made by municipalities for pre existing debts. Subsequent payments made by municipalities for loans from the State Government provided under the Municipalities Loans Extension Act 1898 and the Municipal Loans Act 1915 were paid into the Fund.This series consists of a journal of all payments made by municipalities for outstanding loans into the Fund. Entries were subsequently posted to VPRS 2031 Register (Melbourne Metropolitan Tramways Act)
