The published dataset has been created using high quality and fine resolution satellite retrievals of aerosols  from the MIDAS climatology (Gkikas et al., 2021), as well as information for clouds from CMSAF (Pfeifroth et al., 2017). The surface solar radiation has been simulated using the libRatran radiative transfer model (Mayer and Kylling, 2005).
