Digital Archive from Watching Brief at St. Luke's Church, Heywood, Rochdale, 2024

This collection comprises image, text and CAD data from an archaeological watching brief undertaken at St. Luke's Church, Heywood by Archaeological Research Services Ltd in April 2024. The watching brief took place during investigation works within the churchyard on the northern side of the church to identify the route of an existing drain and to assess the depth of the church foundation. Three fragments of human bone were recovered during the work. No other archaeological remains were encountered, apart from the drain itself which was a late 19th-early 20th century salt glazed sewer pipe.
