资源简介:

The proposed research seeks to understand the lived experience and perception of non-clinical persons (18 years or over) who are close contacts with an older adult person (75 years or over) who has been diagnosed with sepsis. An interpretive phenomenological analysis methodology will guide the research. The method involves one round of semi-structured interviews of in-depth conversation/s with participants who have experienced this phenomenon. The aim is to collect participants’ experiences and perceptions gained through their lived experiences. The researcher will thematically analyse the qualitative data to understand the essence of the lived experience. This research intends to identify non-clinical persons’ perception of their role in the early recognition of sepsis in the older adult. Therefore, the findings have the potential to inform strategies designed to capitalise on non-clinicians’ contribution to early recognition of sepsis in the older adult, improving patient outcomes.
