Preprocessed MMS Dataset for Magnetic Null Detection
收藏资源简介:
This repository provides prepocessed Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS) spacecraft measurements prepared for automatic magnetic null detection, classification, and magnetic topology analysis near electron diffusion regions (EDRs). Although MMS measurements are originally distributed in CDF format, the files provided here are not raw mission products. Instead, they are derived datasets obtained from previously IDL-preprocessed MMS data and subsequently reformatted and standardized into MATLAB-compatible ASCII files to enable efficient numerical computation and direct integration with a MATLAB-based detection pipeline. Preprocessing includes timestamp synchronization across the MMS tetrahedron, coordinate consistency, and extraction of key physical variables such as spacecraft position, magnetic field vectors, plasma density, velocity, and temperature. All vector quantities are expressed in GSM coordinates. The dataset covers more than ten literature-reported EDR events and is provided to ensure full reproducibility of the magnetic null detection, classification, and visualization experiments. Each ASCII file contains time-synchronized measurements arranged into 16 columns: 1–3: time (hour, minute, second)4–6: spacecraft position (X, Y, Z) [km]7–9: magnetic field components (Bx, By, Bz) [nT]10: magnetic field magnitude |B| [nT]11: plasma density [cm⁻³]12–14: plasma bulk velocity (Vx, Vy, Vz) [km/s]15–16: electron temperature components [eV] DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18437216 This repository contains processed data only.
