Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica Genome sequencing and assembly

Salmonella enterica is a zoonotic pathogen and one of the primary causes of diarrheal morbidity and mortality worldwide. The burden of antimicrobial resistance in Salmonella enterica has resulted in the rise of Salmonella superbug in recent days. The whole-genome sequences of Salmonella strains isolated from stool samples of diarrheal patients in icddr,b, Bangladesh may help in tracking genetic changes that cause enhanced resistance to antimicrobials and increased pathogenicity in Salmonella.
