Gene database of Vibrio cholerae

under a microscope, Vibrio cholerae is the aetiological agent for
cholera that continues to plague the population in areas with poor sanitation.
The bacterium is Gram-negative and facultative anaerobic, which provided it
with a range of metabolic options that could be supported by either aerobic
respiration or fermentation. Armed with a polar flagellum as well as pili, V.
cholerae is a motile bacterium. This work sought to provide fundamental
information on the genetic repertoire of V. cholerae by parsing its
annotated genome sequence downloaded from Genbank. Comprising gene name, gene
function and gene sequence of all genes in the genome of V. cholerae,
the resource should be useful in identifying potential genes involved in
pathogenesis as well as guiding genome editing effort to construct loss of
function mutants for understanding new facets of its pathogenesis mechanisms.
