Complete genome of Bacillus sp. OxB-1. Bacillus sp. OxB-1

Bacillus sp. strain OxB-1 was isolated as a Z-phenylacetoaldoxime degrading bacteria. The strain metabolizes Z-phenylacetoaldoxime through phenylacetonitrile into the phenylacetic acid by a combination of Aldoxime dehydratase and Nitrilase. Dehydration of aldoxime is a good strategy to produce nitrile without cyanide. Nitrile production from aldoxime was already succeeded in laboratory scale using Oxd from OxB-1 expressing Escherichia coli under a mild condition. Whole genome of OxB-1 was sequenced for improvement of nitrile production.
